Ypres is a new tourist application richer. I-Ieper offers a voyage of discovery through the rich history of Ypres.
Based on your tablet or smartphone on foot to explore to known and les known corners of Ypres. The application can be downloaded for free from the Apple app store. The emphasis is not so much on the First World War, or on the origin and evolution of Ypres throughout the centuries.
Unlike with a traditional walking map, you do not have to follow the application route blindly from point A to point B. But anyhow via the GPS function. The navigation guides you to about 40 stops. At each of the stops you get a concise explanation and also three interesting 'did-you-that's'. These items are, where possible, illustrated with historical visual material that brings the Ypres past to life.
Of course, the i-Ypres application is primarily intended for use by tourists during their visit to Ypres. But also residents can certainly discover surprising Ypres corners and facts in i-Ypres. The application is offered free of charge in four languages, Dutch, French, English and German. Through the Apple app store. For now it can only be done on iPad, iPhone and i-Pod
